There is a approximately 8′ long yellow boa hiding inside my patio could it be someones pet.?

Yes there is a large snake iside my enclosed patio, I have called animal care and control, and they will not come out to retrieve any reptiles, also called The Critter Getter, he saw the thing and refused to tackle it. I know this Snake is looking to get into my home, where I have a Small Dog and cat. For the last few day I am petrified to leave the house being that the patio is my only way out of the yard. What should I do? Do they bite. I know they do not have venom. It seems like it has made my yard its perminant home. With all the aligator attacks here lately I dont want to become the victom of a snake attack.
