Why do I have such difficulty sizing my dog’s clothes? I always buy the wrong size!?
I have a dachshund and a chihuahua, and I like to buy clothes for them, but my issue, is every single time I purchase something for them and take it home it just isn’t the correct size! And I end up having to go back and waste time exchanging them. The Breed chart is normally about 2 sizes off and wrong and sometimes i’ll need xs, sm, xxs, or med for the same dog it just varies so much, but when I’m looking at it at the store, it LOOKS like it’ll fit! Please Please tell me what is the trick to getting the correct size the FIRST time?!
maybe you ought to measure them before you go out and buy them clothing…in this case you won’t really be able to trust sizing charts, so i would just get some general measurements of your dogs using some inch tape and you’re going to have to do a lot of guess work and handling of the clothes to find a good fit.
it could also be that your dogs may be an irregular shape. personally, if i were met with such circumstances, i would make the clothes myself 
there are a lot of patterns online.
