What is the best harness for my XLG dog?
I have a five month old AmStaff/Great Dane mix. He is already 55pds and should end up weighing at least 100pds. He’s great on the leash and taking well to training BUT when we approach other people or dogs he pulls toward them. Just wanting to play as puppies do. So I’d like to find a comfortable harness for him but designed to give me added control. He may just grow out of this but I’d feel better for his safety. I use a Nylon Harness with him now but I think he is outgrowing it.
The best harness/collar that I’ve used is the EasyWalk Harness. The leash clips onto the front and helps to train the dog, but is NOT a choke restraint. When the dog pulls it just turns the dog to come back toward you. Way easier than regular harness or flat collar.They also make the Gently Leader harness that goes around the dogs snout.
