What’s the point of having a wifi wireless router if…….?

you need internet for it to work??
I mean can’t you just have a internet service and have access to the internet. So what’s the point of a wifi wireless router, cause I don’t understand it’s significance.

Your ISP likely provided you with a modem of some sort, either a DSL or a cable modem, that device alone can prove internet to one PC. (sometimes the modem may have built in router capabilitys and provide access to mroe then one PC)
For you to rout internet to mroe then one device, or for your to run your own home network you need a hub, or router, , the later being easiest, the diffrence in wireless and wired, is simply the means in which the devices all comunicate.

in short, you do not need a router. but in the end its best to have one.

Also there may be some ISPs that do require the use of a router. i do not know for certain but the possibility exists.
