Are electric motors waterproof?

I’m building a small remote control submarine, and I want to know if a motor can get partially wet. If not, how can I waterproof it?
Basically, what I need to do is have the motor in a pipe and the motor be mounted at a 15 degree angle to the rest of the submarine. I will only have the propellor in the water. I don’t think I can not completely waterproof the holes, and I’ll keep the motors separate from batteries. If they aren’t waterproof, can you tell me how I can make them waterproof?

An electric motor can be made water proof the best example and closest you your application would be submersible pump. You could look at some cut away’s of submersible pump motors and get some good idea’s. Do a search for submersible pumps one of the web sites will have a cut away drawing of their pump. I think Flyght pumps does.
