What bag should I get for middle school?

I’m starting middle school this year, but I need help picking what kind of bag I should bring! I was told that backpacks are a waste, and tote bags were cool…but where can I find a decent tote bag? Is it WRONG to bring a backpack? If I don’t decide, I’ll probably end up with a plastic shopping bag! =(

Backpacks are not wrong at all!!!! My entire middle school life I used a backpack. It doesn’t really matter what kind of bag you bring because no one judges anyone on that… even the so called “popular” girls won’t judge anyone on if they have a backpack or tote bag.. not at my school anyway.
But yes, tote bags are pretty popular. But so are backpacks with cool designs (you can buy really cool ones at Tillys).
If you want a tote bag, I suggest you buy one from AE, or Hollister or Aero.
