What’s the deal with leaving the sticker on baseball hat visors?

Why would anyone walk around with the “hat size” sticker on the visor of their baseball hat? I was at a game last night and some kid has the “official MLB merchandise size 7″ sticker still glued to the top of the visor. He wasn’t the only one. I know this isn’t a new phenomenon, but I don’t get it. I guess I’m just old school (translation: take the sticker off and throw it in the garbage before it gets sun-baked, turns into a gooey mess and ruins the hat). Any insights?

Its a new fashion thing. People like the gold sticker cuz it enhances the look on hats for some reason.
