Has anyone ever used the Baby b’air flight vest?

Hi, my husband and I are taking a flight this wed, and we will have our daughter as a lap child, but I bought the Baby b’air flight vest, and we are flying delta (Northwest now) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if those are allowed or not? I looked on the FAA website and it mentions a harness device IS allowed, but doesn’t say specifically if the baby b’air vest is approved, and i got a paper with the vest that says it is FAA approved, but the airlines I spoke to have no idea whether it really is or not and they don’t even know what it is.

So, have any of you ever used one on a flight with delta or northwest?? If so, did you have any trouble with the crew about it?? Thank you, I would appreciate any info you could give me.

I didn’t get one simply because most airline personnel will not let you use it even if you show them the paper you get. Also it is not approved for taxi, takeoff, and landing, so you will have to take baby out of it during those portions of the flight.

Depending on your baby’s size, it might just be easier to wear a sling and keep baby in it during the flight, unlike the Baby b’air it will keep your hands free, you can nap if you want, and it will offer the same protection against injury during turbulence.
