Can anyone help with information on sending a dog from usa to uk?

My sister is living in America, and has recently been taken ill, with a very high heart rate etc she is now unable to walk the dog and stuff as her husband is working full time. It would be a shame for the dog to go somewhere else as it loves my mum and dad and would love where we live in the UK as there’s a big garden and plenty of fields and woods for walks. I am trying to find out the process of sending the dog over from Texas to UK, and also the costs. If anyone could help i would be very grateful

You have to get the dog microchipped, inoculated against rabies then take a blood test and wait six months after that. The cost of flying a dog is very high ($2,000) because the airline and route has to be approved and the approved airlines like to exploit this. A cheaper option is to bring the dog over on the Queen Mary which has kennels on board and costs £200-500 depending on size.
