Has anyone used the ultrasonic no bark pet safe devices to keep dogs from barking?

I have two beagles, who are actually really good at not barking at everything, but everynow and then they get up early and catch a scent and just go to town. One of my beagles was previously abused so I am really really careful what if any (so far none) devices we use on him. He startles at everything (including stationary boxes and blowing bags). I am considereing getting one of these for those early mornings but I don’t want him to be affraid. What do you think? I also want to be respectful of my neighboors. Thanks

I got the device at Wal-Mart that made the nosies, it is build into a collar. This worked great on my yappy Yorkie. I would take it off and one day put a bandanna on her and she though it was the device. No shocks just a loud noise.
