my Small Dog bites when i try to trim his nails or administer meds what can i do?

how can i administer meds to a pet who throws fits and bites he also wont let me trim his nails even with a muzzle help

I have the same problem with my chihuahua, a groomer at petsmart told me that i should touch her feet other times than just grooming time so she’ll get used to it. My dog still hates it, but i do the trimming myself cause she really really hates going to the groomer. But maybe while you’re trimming the nails give your dog little breaks so its not that hard on them, also the muzzle might be a little too much and making the whole situation a lot more uncomfortable than it has to be, and your dog could be associating nail trimming as a horrible experience. As for meds, slip it into some food and just keep trying until they take their medicine.
