Loads of puppy questions ! ? German Shepard?

My 1 1/2 month puppy(german shepard) keeps biting me.

1) Biting Puppies are normal but you should not encourage this, especially with a german shepard! Get the dog some toys: rubber squeakers, cloth toys, etc. Make sure you give your Dog Toys meant for dogs as they will destroy them in a few weeks.
2) The biting usually stops by 6 months but they sometimes get destructive at this age and may start to chew furniture or rip up your flooring especially if left alone for a long time. (this destructive behavior lasts about another 6 months or so.
3) Do not let your dog bite you, it is ok to play with the toy and let them pull it or take it but don’t play too rough, it is a puppy and you don’t want to train it to be aggressive
4) Don’t just call one dog trainer, call several. Most will probably tell you the dog is too young. Something you will learn by going to Dog Training classes about 25% of the class is for the dog and 75% is for you! You will learn how to train dogs, meet people and learn from the problems that they have.
5) I’m mixed about a collar at this age. Get a clip latch collar, where you have to pinch in the edges to get it on and off, and put it on only when taking the dog for a walk or training. Your dog will slowly get used to the collar. By 3 months you can usually leave it on all the time. Do not use a choke style collar at this age. If you use a choke collar later use it only during training. Never put it in the crate with a choke collar
6) Your puppy will cry at night for possibly the next 2 weeks! It is still a baby! Try to make it comfortable, maybe put in a towel in the kennel with it or maybe put a radio on a soft music station at a low volume at night.
7) German Shepards are sometimes aloof but he knows you love him. Just play with him, take him on walks, brush comb him (you need to get him used to a brush as shepard shed), If you bath him (maybe after 8 weeks) make it fun not stressful.
** something extra ** Shepards are known biters, don’t let this stress you out. You need to socialize the dog at a young age. Take it on walk where there are people and other animals. I really really recommend training classes. Taking 2-3 training classes (each class 6-8 weeks) in the first year would be ideal even if it is the same level of class. It will help to socialize the dog.
