Where Can I Buy a Halti Headcollar?

We have always used the choke chains but we got a new dog and i heard that choke chains are no good. The problem is we have german shepherds and its hard to control them with a regualr nylon/cloth collar. I heard of the Halti. Does it really work? And I heard it’s just for training, not everyday use. So what should I use for everyday use? And where can I get a Halti Collar?(preferably without ordering) I don’t think they sell it at petsmart. What are your thoughts on choke chains or pinch collars?

You can find the head collars at any Petsmart. They can work wonders for a pulling or unruly walker. There are several that all work on the same premise: Halti, Promise,Behave,SnootLoop, Gentle Leader.
They are indeed for use when you need them which is when you are walking the dog not just for training. It would seem counter-productive to train the dog on a head collar simply to then put him back in a traditional one dont you think? Take your dog with you because the right fit can be crucial. They come in many different sizes and some are even breed specific for dogs with off shaped heads or snouts (bulldogs,boxers,pitts etc.) On the pinch collars; I would strongly recommend against them due to the damage they can do to a dogs neck/throat. However I do know that alot of shepherd trainers like them. And just another note: if you hve large pulling type dog the worst thing you can get for them is a harness. The way the harness fits give the dog more leverage to pull you along because it goes across his chest in front. Not that you mentioned it I just thought I’d add in case you should entertain the thought of getting one. Good luck!
