How to control 2 schnauzers who bark like crazy when there is a knock on the door?

I would like to know if anyone out there has had success with training their dogs how to sit quietly when opening the door to people,. my dogs act like they are the ones in control. And I know thats not right

You can train your dogs to go to their kennels (or, a specific room in the house) when someone knocks at the door. You’ll need one other person to help you. Have the 2nd person go outside and knock at the door. When your dogs hear that you will lure them to another area of the house with treats or toys and lots of praise. Once they get to that area away from the door you reward them. Wait a while and then repeat the exercise. In time your dogs will learn that the sound of a door knock is the trigger to go to their kennel and sit quietly for a couple of minutes. You need to be consistent and tell your dogs to go to their kennels everytime someone comes to the door.
