What to pack for New York City?

Okay, so I’m going to NYC tomorrow. Should I bring a purse? A tote bag? What should I put in it? I already know I should bring: tissues, purell(hand sanitizer), $15, cell phone, ipod, and homework. (I didn’t do it yet…) What else should I bring? Do I need anything? Oh, and I’m using my phone as a camera because my camera broke. ): I’m 13 years old, btw.

Umbrella, waterproof clothing and footwear and ID.
New batteries for the iPod or money to buy more.
