Tag Disc

How come my PS2 won’t play tekken tag or any other blue-bottom discs or ps1 disks?

About two years ago my ps2 stop playing blue-bottom disks or ps1 discs. Does anyone know why this happened and how I can fix it?

My PS2 recently did the same thing. I bought it the first day the PS2 was released (first generation Fat version) and had no problems with it at all until it started refusing to read my games and later, even my regular DVD’s and CD’s.

I did a lot of research on the internet and found that the problem lies in the laser lense. Either you have to clean it, adjust it, or straight out replace it. So since my warranty had long expired, I opened it up (Youtube has a lot of videos on this), cleaned it and adjusted it… but it still didn’t help.

Replacing the lense is quite expensive… and actually in many cases, more expensive and time consuming than simply buying another PS2. You can buy a used one on Craigslist for cheap… I’ve seen some of the newer Slim PS2s for as low as $60US before. Besides, you already have all the accessories (joysticks, memory cards, power cords, etc.) so if you look, there are many good deals on used PS2s.
