Yes. you should always put your phone number AND address on the ID tag. If your phone number changes, or you move, they will be able to find you by using your previous address. Animal Control WILL take your pet if it is running loose regardless of it having a collar or not. The only difference is that if you have a collar with an ID tag on it, your pet will be returned to you sooner. If your pet doesn’t have a ID tag or microchip, it will be held at the Animal Control headquarters for 14 days (varies from town to town) and if you do not claim them within that time frame, they will be put up for adoption. This is why you need to microchip and put collars with ID tags on your pets. I was at animal control a few days ago (looking at kittens) and there was a very social ferret in holding. Micro chip and put collars on your pets!!!!
