What is the best flea spot-on treatment for dogs?

My Vet gave me advantage, but I’ve read some stuff about dogs getting poisoned and fleas starting to get immune to it, so I’m thinking about getting a different kind of flea treatment. Does anyone have some suggestions?

I have always used frontline without any problems. I have a large doberman mix who is 13 and a maltese shihtzu mix who is 3. So there is no problems with using it on large, small, old or young dogs from my experience. You can bath your dog before it is applied but not for at least 24hrs after. It is a good idea to occasionally use a different brand for treating fleas or internal parasites because they can develop a resistance to the product if it is over used in your area. I hope this helps.
