I have to get rid of my dog?

I have a 3 yr. old tiger striped Pitt Bull that I really love sooo much. She is very sweet & really doesnt live up to the mean, aggresive Pitt Bull standard. My 14 months old son & her are the best of friends but she has to go. Im afraid to give her to a shelter b/c I want her to have a good home. What do I do?
