Who Thinks Derrick Rose IS Overrated????

i really think derrick rose didnt deserve to be the number one pick in the draft. It should have definitely have been Michael Beasely. Dont get me wrong, Rose will be a fine little 12 and 6 guy but i really dont see the superstar franchise tag potential. I honestly think that if chicago was going to still pick a PG it should have been mayo because he has star power. Rose seems like he could be a bust like Keith Van Horn. Besides in his first game in the summer leagues against Beasely he brought in 10 points, 4 asissts and 5 TURNOVERS!. that could basically offset all of his scoring. the only way he has any chance is if the Bulls keep Hinrich to tudor him and groom him and raise him or if they smarten up and try to trade him and keep the already groomed and proven scorer hinrich. WHO ELSE IS WITH ME?!?!?!

It was his first game, so I’m not taking much from that. He is overrated in the fact that people are saying he is among the best point guards in the game today. To be honest, he did not impress me that much in college. Memphis lost the Championship game because he missed some crucial free throws. What makes him better than any other point guard? He’s fast (point guards are supposed to be fast), he makes good passes (point guards are supposed to make good passes) he is a good ball handler (point guards are supposed to be good ball handlers). The theme is SUPPOSED TO. He only does what a good point guard is supposed to do. The different between him and PG’s like Chris Paul and Deron Williams, he can’t score when he wants. If it’s the last few minutes of a game and your team needs a basket, you can’t rely on him to hit a three to tie the game or something like that. I don’t think he will get to the rim as easily in the NBA. I know he had a few nice drives today, but those summer league guys are benchwarmers that never get to play. I think the only reason he is so hyped up is because of the success Memphis had, and he gets all the credit, and he shouldn’t. Until the tournament, Chris Douglas-Roberts was the best player on the Memphis Tigers, and then it seemed like in one day, Derrick Rose was the best player ever. He never had any memorable games in college. Beasley had three 40 point games if I remember correctly. A few 20 rebounds games. So he has proven himself. He should have been the first pick, but Miami came out on top. He had a good summer league debut, but it’s the same thing, chances are, he won’t score 28 every game against better defenders. To me, Rose is just a regular point guard. Beasley is a special player, and the Bulls made a mistake by not taking him.
