Shedding Tool Brush

Has anybody used the furminator?

I have a Border Collie that sheds like crazy, and brushing doesn’t really help that much. I have heard that the furminator is a great shedding tool. Is this correct? And does anybody know of anything else that works well?

Not trying to contradict anyone, but the Furminator, when used according to the directions, is awesome on double coated breeds. I have a Sheltie and an Aussie/Huskie mix, and both of them shed buckets.
The tool is not designed to be combed hard through the coat. If you do that, you will cut the outer coat. However, if you use steady, gentle strokes, you will not harm the outer coat, and will get a large amount of down undercoat out with every stroke.
The problem arises when people use this tool with a heavy hand.
I don’t care for their shampoo, either-I much prefer my oatmeal shampoo.
