Could a service dog help someone with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis?

Like an almost 15 year old girl that has very sever rheumatoid arthritis and has to be laid up in bed for about 40 days, or more, during the school year (each year since 6th grade) and has to be in a wheel chair some days. Could a service dog be useful for this person to help them get through the day better/easier? Also what could the dog do to help? Thanks for your answer in advance!

You could contact an agency that trains service dogs and ask…any place reputable would be more than willing to discuss it with you.

Service dogs can do anything they are trained to- turn lights on and off, pick things up, open and shut doors, alert to sounds (for those who have hearing issues,) some can alert to seizures or low blood sugar…

This sounds like a situation where a hearing dog would most likely be useful.

All patches are 3.5 inches wide, made from a twill weave (87% cotton / 13% polyester) and embroidered with rayon thread. They can be used individually or in combination with other patches. You’ll need to either glue the patch onto the vest or you (or someone you know) will need to sew these patches on as our dogs haven’t learned how to do that yet. If you are going to sew a patch on the pocket area of the cape, you’ll need to sew it by hand. If you put it on the top of the cape you can use a machine. You might also consider using velcro or glue. You can also have your vest custom embroidered, again you’ll need to do that once you get your vest. The Tiny and X-Small jackets do not have enough space for the round patches to be placed on the side. Instead you can place one round patch in the middle on the back. Patches are sold each, not pairs. There are no rules that dictate where or how many patches should be on a vest. Most people use two of each patch, one for each side.
