cat collar issues?

I have a kitten that is not quite a year old. She’s an indoor/outdoor cat. I would really like to keep a collar with tags on her, but every time she goes outside with the collar on she comes back inside without it and i can’t find them in the yard! Are there any collars that don’t come off as easily? Are collars without the breakaway safety feature really a danger to my cat?
Also, i know you can have dogs micro-chipped, can i get my cat micro-chipped?

It is dangerous to have a collar on an outside cat. They can get caught on things & as you have seen lose the collar. But sometimes they don’t get loose. Yes you can get a micro-chip for your cat, we did.
