Do i have to feed my dog Royal Canin Dog Food for six months?

I have already gotten a dog but I’m going to be picking it up around August, and when I was speaking with the breeder she said that I should feed it Royal Canin dog food for at least six months to make sure it gets a good start. Is it really necessary? Unless of course I decide to use Royal Canin as my original dog food right?

She probably picked royal canine because it is a semi decent food and wants to know her puppy is getting the nutrients she needs when shes growing. That’s my only guess because royal canine has no breeder program so she isn’t getting any coupons for it like alot of breeders do when they feed purina. It’s a decent food but if your going to spend that much money go with blue, its WAYYYY better and costs about the same.
