Rope burn from a Dog Leash on the back of my wife’s knees?

My wife was playing with the dog this afternoon with the long leash, and she got a bit tangled in it, and ended up getting a nice “rope burn” on the back of both knees. We’ve been cleaning the wound with warm water and putting Neosporin on it. Does anyone have any other suggestions to help with the healing and the pain?

You did everything right so far. If you came into the ER, we’d do what you did, give you a tetnus shot unless you had one in the past 5 yrs and possibly give you some oral antibiotics depending on how deep and serious the wound is.

Keep the Neo and Bandaid applied. No swimming for a few days. Goodluck
