Rake Comb Brush

How are you supposed to comb curly hair everyday?

This is what I don’t get. Whether a person has slightly curly hair, medium curly hair, or very kinky textured hair how on earth do they comb it? They say that you are not supposed to run a brush or comb through curly hair while dry but at the same time curly headed people are not supposed to wash their hair everyday or it dries it out. I am so confused. I know a lot of people say well you use a spray bottle and wet your hair, but isn’t it true that if you do this and use a comb, rake, or brush that you are going to be left with undefined frizzy curls. I know I am asking a lot of questions, but I would generally like to know how those who have curly hair actually comb it. Thanks. I cannot imagine someone getting up in the morning and not grooming their hair in some way but I just dont see how curly heads do it if you are not supposed to comb it.

My hair is very thick, curly AND wiry so I have a triple curse:) I only wash my hair every 3-4 days (sometimes even longer if the weather isn’t bad) and I use a wide-toothed comb ONLY when I condition. Otherwise, you end up with a huge freaking mess of hair! Combing curly hair is pretty much only possible when there’s conditioner in it.
