Pooch Dog
Is there a breed of dog that doesn’t give off that typical dog smell?
That’s why I’m a cat person. I just petted my friend’s pooch (a dog that’s regularly bathed btw) and it left my hands smelling like boiled quarters. I just can’t deal with that.
All dogs are going to have some smell to them but there are definitely some breeds that have a strong odor. Any dog that is known to be a “water” dog will have an oily coat and will tend to be doggier than the average. Like wise hounds (like basset hounds and blood hounds) tend to be doggier smelling.
Poodles, Greyhounds, Whippets, Italian Greyhounds I know from personal experience have very little doggy odor.
