Pneumonia In Dogs Treatment

Housebreaking a 4 year old dog?
She’s been pretty good. I left her alone when I first went to buy her kennel and she peed. She also ran all over the house knocking things over as she was totally torqued up from the move.
She was at the Vet all day yesterday getting IV treatments (for pneumonia). I took her home, got her settled and forgot to take her out and she peed at the front door.
I dont know if she will ever give warning signs, but I am just trying to keep taking her out every few hours. Any other suggestions?
When I saw her pee, I just got her attention and she stopped, we went out and she finished.
When I leave her, I put her in her kennel hopeing she wont pee or poop. Any other suggestions?
First off, NEVER EVER scold your dog for making a mess inside. She has no idea what it means when you rub her nose in her accidents or smack her in the butt. This will only scare her and make the potty training process harder. Some dogs will hold their bladder because they become so afraid to urinate/defecate after receiving harsh punishment. This could lead to infections. Accidents in the house are a result of poor potty-training, or none at all. Therefore, the owners fault not the dogs.
You need to fully supervise her at all times. Taking her out to go potty every few hours is not enough, you should be taking her out once an hour so she get’s the hang of going out the backdoor = going potty. Whenever she stands next to the sliding back door, open it. This lets her know that when she stands by the door, it opens up for her to go outside. Soon (hopefully) she will wait by the back door, letting you know she needs to be let out to go potty.
You need to use a lot of positive reinforcement. For the next few weeks, make sure you’re going out with her when she does her business. Tell her, “go potty” and when she does say, “good potty!” use lots of enthusiasm. Directly after you’ve said “good potty!” reward her with a treat. Do this every single time she goes to the bathroom. You need to be consistent so she understands that when she goes outside, it’s a good thing. If she can’t hold it at night, make sure you’re taking her out then too. Rewarding her just the same. She will catch on, you’d be surprised.
She is an older dog so once she is fully housebroken she will be able to hold her bladder for 6-8hours.

Atypical Pneumonia $95.59 Atypical pneumonia is a pneumonia not caused by one of the more traditional pathogens. It can be caused by a variety of microorganisms. When developed independently from another disease it is called Primary Atypical Pneumonia. The term was introduced in the 1930s and was contrasted with the bacterial pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, at that time the best known and most occurring form of pneumonia. Distinction between atypical and typical pneumonia, however, is medically insufficient. For the treatment of pneumonia it is important to know the exact causing organism. Moreover, S. pneumoniae has become a relatively lesser important cause Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 128 Publication Date: 2010/04/29 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.30 inches |

CommunityAcquired Pneumonia $154.53 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Communityacquired pneumonia (CAP) is a disease in which individuals who have not recently been hospitalized develop an infection of the lungs (pneumonia). CAP is a common illness and can affect people of all ages. CAP often causes problems like difficulty in breathing, fever, chest pains, and a cough. CAP occurs because the areas of the lung which absorb oxygen (alveoli) from the atmosphere become filled with fluid and cannot work effectively. CAP occurs throughout the world and is a leading cause of illness and death. Causes of CAP include bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. CAP can be diagnosed by symptoms and physical examination alone, though xrays, examination of the sputum, and other tests are often used. Individuals with CAP sometimes require treatment in a hospital. CAP is primarily treated with antibiotic medication. Some forms of CAP can be prevented by vaccination. Community-Acquired Pneumonia $173.99 Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP) refers to pneumonia acquired outside of hospitals or extended-care facilities, and is distinct from Nosocomial or hospital-acquired pneumonia, which is a separate disease entity. It is one of the most common respiratory infections and presents one of the major health problems today, with an incidence that ranges from eight to fifty cases per thousand individuals each year. Mortality is still very high and yet the risk factors are very well known. Many of these are related to antibiotic treatment; delay in administration, inadequacy of empiric antibiotics and lack of adherence to guidelines for treatment are all clearly associated with poor treatment outcomes. Following a description of the epidemiology and microbial etiology of ambulatory and hospitalized CAP, this book provides an in-depth review of the important new advances in therapeutics, including management of drug resistance to the three major classes of antibiotics used for treatment of CAP: β-lactams, macrolides and quinolones. All of them have advantages and disadvantages and these are put into perspective. This book highlights guideline recommendations and presents a balanced analysis to help physicians deliver the highest standard of care. In addition, the authors provide an insight into the 10% of patients who do not respond to antibiotics and could benefit from adjunctive therapies, some still under review. This volume will be welcomed by pulmonologists and all clinicians involved in managing community-acquired pneumonia.   |
