canidae all life stages help? is this Good Dog chow?

ive been feeding my 5.5 month old belgian malinois canidae all life stages since he was about 10 weeks old, just the normal tan bag. i recently notice that they have another type at my new pet store. i think its still all life stages but it has lamb and rice in it instead. which type is better? i dont have much complaint with the current except his poop aint very consistent. i also have 3 types of treats that i feed him first just a Charlie bear for training, and innova health bars which i notice give him stinky farts, and i just got some canidae platinum snack bars that you snap apart. i guess im just looking for insight. give me your 2 cents…

I agree with most here that Canidae is definitely not a bad food at all.

I also agree with those who recommend Orijen or Innova as it is a higher quality food.

I have personally tasted almost *every* Dog Food out there, from Kibbles and Bits (absolutely horrific, that’s another article in itself..) to Orijen/Innova. Orijen and Innova are BY FAR the most wholesome and full tasting; I can fully appreciate why dogs love them both.

Beyond taste, I believe in the philosophy behind NaturaPet (makers of Innova/EVO/California Natural) and Orijen and feel that this steadfast dedication to quality is what makes them stand out above Canidae.

I do applaud Canidae for providing quality Pet Food for those who cannot afford something like Orijen; it makes it easier to convince the common person to switch when it’s not a big budget jump.

Anyway, Canidea’s a good food, but I would recommend Innova / Orijen overall. Whichever food you choose, I would try a few weeks using a structured feeding schedule and no food other than dry kibble (no treats, people food, etc.) and see if the poop becomes consistent. If so, slowly work some of the treats back in gradually to see if something changes.
