Is it dangerous if my dog ate my plastic/metal retainer?

I left both the top and bottom parts of my retainer on the counter and I realized they were mysteriously missing later that day. The retainer was made of both plastic and metal. My dog is an adult Golden Retriever. Should I take him to the Vet or will he digest it naturally?

Yes, it could be dangerous. This could tear the esophegus, get lodged in the dog’s intestine, and tear his insides. That would be awful. Yes, it would be a good idea to take the dog to the vet just to make sure you have none of these complications.
