Is it rude to ask your Vet to write a prescription for medication so you can buy it online for cheaper?

I buy Sentinel flea medicine for my dogs through my vet, but he charges me over $80 for this when on places like 1-800-Petmeds they charge about $60. I feel bad for having to ask, and so I never do and end up overpaying.
If there are any vets out there reading this, is this a major no-no or is it acceptable to ask?

No,not rude to ask,in many states vets are required to provide scripts when requested.
