What is wrong with my kitten? He’s losing his fur..Please help!?

I adopted a kitten a couple months ago at my local humane society. He is losing fur under his right arm and now on the top of his ears. Under his arm it looks red and scaly (kind of like dry skin). He does not have ringworm, mites, fleas, ect. I have 2 other pets at my home and neither of them have this skin condition, so I know it is not contagious. I tried giving him an oatmeal bath because I heard it was helpful for skin irritations, but it did not work. I am a poor college student so I don’t have the money to take him to the Vet again. He doesn’t seem sick at all..The vet put him on antibiotics and they did nothing for his skin condition. He did not show signs of this skin condition until he had been living at my house for a few weeks, so I’m not sure if he got this from the humane society. Please help!

Check this out…. Almost to strange. I do foster care for my local shelter and I had a kitten that lost a nickle size patch of hair. Just like you explained but not the armpit.The kitten was between 4-7 weeks. about 1 pound. I thought ring worm, mange all the things you thought. The stuff that made sense to me. the kitten was one of four. I freaked out because i have personal cats and a dog. when I talked to the animal care cuardiater. She said some kittens are confused about how much cleaning is enough and they become absessed with one area and over clean until it becomes erritated. as the kitten got older and found other things to do the hair grew back and the redness went away. Since you did take it to the vet and there was no other issues this maybe the problem. I have fostered about 70 kittens and only one over groomed. I wouldn’t bath him that’ll dry him out more maybe some oily type canned food and watch his grooming. I cant explain the ears unless someone else is grooming him or he is just sheding. if it dosent get better you may have to go back to the vet. Maybe a fuzzy toy does he suck his arm pit my baby tom(stray)sucks my blanket. he could have sucked his own hair off missing mom and siblings. just some ideas to help baby. sure hope this helps
