What is your favourite pet? -dog or cat?

do you prefer a dog or a cat for a pet?

That’s a tough one as I love them both and find it very difficult to live without both. I have lived without a dog at times when I had no choice so I know what it’s like to be without one but I’ve never had to live without a cat.

With that knowledge, I could say that if I had to choose, I’d take a cat since I don’t know what it’s like to be without one. On the other hand, I’d choose a dog as I do know what it’s like to be without a dog and it’s awful.

Dogs can provide protection as well as companionship so there is that advantage.

Still, my entire life has been conditioned to see them as two halves of one unit. They’ve always come in sets, one dog and one cat or one dog and two cats, two dogs and two cats. They are a set, usually best friends and inseparable.

If I had to make a choice due to living conditions, I’d choose based on the criteria of those conditions, but I cannot honestly say I have a favorite without honestly choosing both equally.
