Low cost Pet Care?

I am on a disability pension and have recently been given a adult Small Dog, what is the best yet mosr economical way to worm, flee, etc without a lot of money, I live in brisbane australia. Are the supermarket products as effective in comparison to products only available at the Vet

I’m not sure about what’s available in Australia. But, I know in the USA, vets will NOT reccomend using over the counter products or vacc sold at feed stores..due to the fact that they are usually not handled properly. (not kept at correct temp., etc) Most supermarket brands are so deluted they aren’t worth it. Check around for a local vet that might be able to help you, or set you up on a payment plan? The best care for your pets medical needs are done by a licened Vet. Please do not trust any “home remedies” given to you on the net.
