What would cause garage door openers to not work on an entire street?

I work with a really nice HOA/Country club. It has been brought to our attention that all of the sudden the garage door openers for all the homes on a certain street have stopped working. I mean the wireless ones.

They do, however, seem to work if they are in their garage when they hit the button. One guy even replaced everything related to the clicker and it still wont work.

Anyone have any clue what would cause this? these homes are only 2 years old or so. Verizon Fios is installing a lot of cable, but it’s all wired.

Is there anything that you can think of that would run on the same signal as the remotes? Perhaps an invisible fence for pets? Some strange home network I’ve never heard of.

it’s not a dead battery or an antenna positioned incorrectly if all tha openers stopped working. a couple of months ago i got a memo stating that verizon fios systems were interfering with garage door remotes. this is not an uncommon problem. the solution the memo mentioned involved a shield around verizon’s equipment. specifically it said verizon was providing a shielded cover for the indoor equipment at it’s own expense. if they are just running the wires and nobody has anything hooked up yet that wouldn’t match the memo, but it seems like too much of a coincidence to ignore. if thier equipment is interfering with everybody’s remotes, that is thier responsibility to provide a solution. i would absolutely have the association contact them.
