What infections can we catch from our pets or them from us?

I have a tooth infection and my cat now has bad breath. She is always licking me so could she have got something from me? I also have rats and very worried about them catching a cold from me as rats are sensitive to respiratary infections. When I am ill treatment is free but if a pet gets ill it costs a great deal!
