What is the relationship between Ohio State and the Muppet’s character Fozzie Bear?

I have a vintage t-shirt I picked up at a secondhand store with a picture of Fozzie Bear and the word “Fozzie” and below that, in vintage lettering, the words “Ohio State”. I’ve looked online and can’t find any relationship. Does anyone know any possibilities? The curiosity is killing me!

There is no direct relationship. during the late 70′s and 80′s many large universities piggy backed their name along with recognized cartoon characters such as Micky Mouse, Snoopy/Peanuts, Bugs Bunny etc. The thinking being that some fans would not buy a plain OSU T-shirt, but Fozzie or who ever was also an OSU fan. Its called cross or mixed branding. It began to fade the owners of the cartoon image rights began to get more restrictive on thier use. Also, they did not like the negative press of watching a bunch of screaming college students wearing Mickey Mouse T’s giving the finger to opposing schools on national television. Some schools to have marketing agreements, like USC and UCLA with Disney to sell Mickey shirts in school colors. Finally, many colleges have thier own trademarked mascots and thought it foolish to pay extra to use a character that is not even thier mascot.
