what type of leash is good for a pup?
i am adopting an australian shepherd pup and is preparing for its arival. should i get a plain leash (nylon, cotton, or leather???) or a reactable one? i heard that its better to use a plain one than a reactable one because it gives better control of the dog…
Plain is safer and better for training a puppy. When your dog is older and well-trained, you can use a flexi-leash to allow more freedom, but for now a plain leash (any lightweight will work fine, I use a plain 6′ nylon leash) is the best choice. If you do want to switch to a flexi-leash later on, do some research and learn about the risks first and balance those with the convenience of using one.
