Nylon Dog Harness

Dog, Brittany, has rash and loss of hair under collar. What do you recommend?

Two year old Brittany. We also have her mother who exhibited the same condition but not as severe when she was younger. We removed her nylon collar 2 months ago and replaced it with a Nylon Harness which doesn’t contact her neck and has had no side affects. Some of her hair has returned, but she has bumps, like pimples without puss, that have not gotten better. She is on Sentinel so its not due to bugs. Any help will be appreciated.

I see this a lot at my shelter. Dogs just irritate their skin from the collars. Normally it takes a long time for them to fully recover, and sometimes they get secondary skin infections. Talk to your Vet, over the phone, about what you could put on it.

why did you breed a dog with a known skin condition? Just to have the pups have the same problem. How is this improving the breed?
