How can I train our 2 puppies to be not so aggressive in their chewing?
We have 2 Labradoodle puppies (6 months, brother and sister) that can chew through any toy we give them (excpet the nylabone durable bones). And the girl chews on the boys collar…infact she chewed his metal tags right off!
We have tried the bitter apple spray, it doesn’t stop them from chewing their leashes, leaders or collars.
We’ve tried all sorts of toys…most only make it 5-10 minutes before they are eating the pieces. We’ve removed anything they shouldn’t have like rugs or the kids toys.
Any suggestions on how to train them to be not be so aggressive in their chewing??
We do not give the pupppies rawhides that often…they finish them off in 5 minutes. I have to wonder how much they chewed completely and how much they just swallowed. And they have chewed up their kong toys into bite size pieces. Any other tough toy ideas?
Chewing is something that puppies have to outgrow… it’s the same as teething in babies.
Also try getting heavy duty chew toys like tire bitters, and kongs Look for stuff that says indestructible. Our dog was like that when she was a puppy we spent about 50 bucks on toys that were good quality, and she only managed to destroy one of them and gave up chewing on other things that she shouldn’t. My dog loved the taste of that bitter apple stuff, worked the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do.

My dog has had these rings for 2 years and there are barely teeth marks on them she used to eat dvd cases, she shredded our phone book, eaten the leg off of a dinning room chair, and she still love these rings.

With these you do have to check often for broken pieces but it kept my dog busy for hours
My dog was a big time chewwer greenies would be gone in a matter of MINUTES, now that she’s grown up she doesn’t chew like that any more. I hope this helps you.
