What are the best pet turtles you can have that are between small and medium not to small.?

I’m not sure why people are recommending Red-Eared Sliders as they get really huge. Actually, most of the common pet turtles get large. Look into box turtle and mud turtle species, they don’t tend to get as big as the sliders.

Just remember, never take a turtle from the wild and try to get a captive-bred turtle if at all possible =).
