Dog Training – Heel.?
Just curious.
My dog (Lurcher) is 2 years old and after 2 years of him fight with me in the training department I have finally taken him to dog training lessons. We started yesterday. Now the 3 Exercise we did he did fine in apart from 1 – Heeling. He continuously thought with me, chewed on the collar, tried to switch sides…and embarrassingly hide behind me.
Im just wondering out of pure curiosity how long it usually take for a dog to learn the heel command/exercise?
Every dog is different – you should doing on it daily. one thing you can do is have a lot of treats. hold the treat just ahead of you where you want the dog to be – Make it something soft you can give in small pieces work slowly and only in a few steps at first. he’ll get it you just need to work at it.
