What to do about “stray” dog?

There’s this Catahoula Leopard Dog that visits my house regularly to play with my dogs, he’s an intact adult, has a purple/blue collar on (no tags), knows some basic commands and he’s been showing up for about 1 week and 5 days now. When he leaves he always goes back to the same house and lays down on the porch, i’ve tried knocking on the door multiple times but I have never got an answer. Hes isn’t skinny but it does look like he hasn’t been fed regularly. What should I do about him? I don’t want to take him to a shelter, what if he actually has an owner? I can’t take him, I have 4 dogs at the moment plus a litter of 9 puppies.

Leave a note on the door…..give the dog something to eat ON HIS OWN PORCH..the owner may work long hours or sleep during the day or anything. Find out first..and I wouldn’t call the Dog Services. The poor dog will get taken away and it’s not cheap to get the dog back. Wait and see…….
