How can I legally get out of a 13 month lease with my apartment in Arizona?

I don’t know the laws here, but I’ve been living in this apartment for 3 months now and all I can say is it’s a slum. The apartment came with a fridge, but it broke down two months ago causing all the food I had in there to spoil. I’m still waiting for the managers to fix or replace the fridge. My sliding door won’t lock, which I mentioned during the walk thru, but it’s still not fixed and someone tried to break in a few nights ago. There are lots of huge cockroaches roaming around my apartment along with scorpions (one was as big as the palm of my hand). I have asked them to fix the sliding door, but they tell me to just lock the screen and it should be fine. I’ve told them they need to spray my apartment and they tell me they do that every week (yeah right). I can’t live in this hell hole. I’m using it only to store my stuff and I’m sleeping on a friend’s couch. I want out of the lease, but I don’t want a bad report on my credit. Any advice or direction is appreciated!

Get the health department to inspect your apartment….and they will fine and appropriately punish the landlord

Get an itemized list of the food you lost…your landlord is responsible for their monetary value.

Next…your attorney will tell you about the warranty of habitability…this doctrine says that the apartment should be liveable…and obviously this apartment is not…you should be let out of your lease and perhaps will win even more damages that I listed on here…call those 2 numbers quickly.
