Looking after a bernese Mountain Dog?

I have a fair sized house and garden.
I live by myself and i work at home.
I know that they can be hard to train but i have trained Large Dogs before.
I was looking for any helpful pointers as i am planning to get my puppy in about a month when he is ready.

I love big dogs!
Just make sure you start training early and stay very consistent, even at that adorable stage when you just want to love him nonstop. I’d recommend schedule feeding rather than free feeding and other early alpha training like teaching how to walk beside or behind you, basic obedience training, that kind of thing. Just get as much as you can done while he’s small before he gets too big, basically. Go for lots of walks, and I’d invest in a 15-20 ft lead for him to drag around. That way if he gets into something or does something he’s not supposed to do, you can step on the leash and give him a tug to correct him within a few seconds. If it takes you more than 10-15 seconds to correct him, you might as well not correct him at all, because he won’t realize what you’re correcting him for.

The main things I’d focus on nipping in the butt early on is jumping and mouthing.
