Does anyone know where a good place is to live where there are no By-laws on dog limits?

Every By-law I have checked out has a 3 dog limit. None of them recognize a “Hobby” Breeder. You have to have minimum acreage, a kennel License, it has to be a seperate building, it has to have a cement floor, hot and cold running water, electricity. What happened to having your dogs as pets living in your home and breeding purebred dogs maybe once or twice a year as a HOBBY BREEDER!!! This is not a business…it is a HOBBY…like sewing, knitting, painting, breeding your dog, and I don’t mean a backyard breeder of mutts. Members of CKC, and other clubs. We just want to live somewhere where we can have our dogs with us and they can be spoiled like they are and once or twice a year breed a litter.

Yea, most places have pet limits. It is stupid and doesn’t address the problems it is suppose to. The hoarders can’t stop because they are mentally ill, and it doesn’t stop the people who can’t handle their ONE dog and leave it tied and barking night and day.

I would be VERY careful about applying for a breeder/kennel license. They often use the applications to see that you are over your limit and will then come and seize your dogs.

I just try to stay under ACs radar and I have a 6ft wood fence. My dogs are quiet and well cared for, I doubt my neighbors know I have 5 dogs.
