I keep my children more than my ex, but her husband carries all health insurance. makes much more, i rent, they just sold there very nice home for a very very very nice 3 level 5 bed room home 450,000,000! I spend more time with children! but they live in a much better school district and provide all the health insurance. My grils are 8 and 9 so they no longer need child care plus ex has never worked!
Yes. Generally, the way it is done: a child support worksheet is done showing your income and your ex’s. (Hers is calculated at minimum wage if she does not work-sorry.) Adjustments are made for child care expenses (in this case, none) and health insurance costs. When the total amount of support is figured, it is then split according to your respective % of income. Since you work, your obligation of the support will be higher. Since you split time, one worksheet should be done showing you as the custodial parent, with her paying you support; then another worksheet showing her as the custodial parent, with you paying support. Then you subtract what she would pay you from what you are to pay her, and that should be the amount of support. You can always try to come to an agreement of lesser child support. But in either case, child support is a legal obligation, and generally the statutory minimum is $25.00 per week. Good Luck!
