James Wellbeloved Dog Food Reviews
How good is Chappie Dry Dog Food?
Wet Dog Food is not agreeing with my dog, so I tried James Wellbeloved and his poo is still quite soft. Have been reading up on dry dog food and Chappie comes out quite good in the reviews, and is a very reasonable price too for 15kg bags. Has anybody fed this to their dog, and would they recommend it?
I’ve not been successful with the dry version of Chappie, but their tinned food is, invho, excellent. We used it all the time when we had a boarder in who refused to eat. The slightly fishy smell appeals. And it is easily digested too, so is good when you have a dog with a slightly upset tummy. As for other brands, in the UK, I can recommend Burns, or Arden Grange. Both slightly more expensive, but you don’t need to feed quite as much with these brands, and often overall, there’s a saving, if feeding the right diet keeps your dog away from the Vet!! I switched my lad, who had Giardia earlier in the year and was suffering from ongoing looseness, from the Burns he was on to Arden Grange Sensitive tummy diet 2 months ago, and apart from a glitch this week, which I think was a tummy bug he picked up (he’s fine now) he’s not looked back. Firms stools all the time. This is made from Haddock and Potato, which, as has been proved, gave him a switch off anything he’d had before, which might have been irritating his tummy. It’s costing me £10 a week but compared to the almost weekly trips to the vet, has actually been a saving.
Both Burns and AG have a helpline on their website, and have been extremely helpful.
