Is it strange for a man to dress a poodle as Sherlock Holmes?

Last week at work, I was asked to take an associate out for dinner. When I arrived at his hotel, I found that he had with him a poodle dressed in a houndstooth cape and deerstalker hat, in the style of Sherlock Holmes. The associate insisted that the poodle come with us to dinner.
Discussing contract agreements and financial concerns whilst a canine detective is staring at you is very off-putting.
Should I mention this to my boss, or at least question the man? He’s here for another week and there aren’t many restaurants that happily accept dogs.

No it’s elementary.
