Horse Dog Clipper
What is the best kind of clippers to buy for grooming long thick haired dogs?
I am looking to buy a set of clippers/trimmers to cut off my dogs long coat during the summer. One is a Sheltie and the other a Mini Aussie. Both of which are quite fluffy. I’ve tried my horse clippers on them but the dogs fur is way to thick for them.
I am a fan of Oster A5′s they can run a little hotter than other clippers are are a little heavier but they are reliable and powerful.
I own one set that I have had for 10 years and they are still going strong, as long as you remember to oil them and keep them well serviced they should last you a long time.
Andis is another good brand, lighter and cooler than the Osters but i find them to be not as reliable or powerful.
